That premise supposes that buying sex, and what you do in your private life which is legal should be presented to the public in general.

the vast majority of the general public and nor particularly interested in what the other general public are actually doing. Well; the sensible ones anyway.
The hotels and motels certainly don’t object, as it keeps their rooms booked up with a better class of public. If your spending three figures to share time with a lady your hardly likely to cause any issues.
As for MP’s! I would imagine, if you decide to become a civil servant, or enter public office, one is obligated by certain expectations. Therefore; if you decide to step out of line, you are going to be scrutinized, surely that is obvious.
