We are very excited to announce the launch event of the comprehensive findings from the Beyond the Gaze (BtG) participatory action research project, the largest study to date of UK internet based sex work in the UK. The project carried out by researchers at the Universities of Leicester and Strathclyde has been looking at how online and digital technology has impacted on the sex industry and at the working conditions, safety and regulation of internet based sex work in the UK. It has also explored how outreach and health services working with sex workers have responded to the needs of this sector and identified good practice. The event will be of interest to practitioners in a range of fields for example health, human rights, social care, sex work outreach and support projects, sexual violence services, criminal justice, police and many others. It will also be of interest to people working in the sex industry, policy makers, academics and researchers. The event is taking place in the buzzing heart of City Centre Manchester a few minutes walk from Piccadilly Train Station and close to the Gay Village and near Manchester’s China Town.
